BEATME x couldn’t be beaten on an extraordinary Friday night!

Apr 28, 2008 07:44 AM. Post 1
Friday night’s WSOP Final saw another 40 players registering for their chance to join Team PokerRoom.com in Las Vegas for the WSOP Main Event.

The opening 90 minutes of play provided plenty of spills and kills, with no les than 25 players busting out. x crash154 was best placed of the 15 remaining players, holding a big chip lead with 27,1999 in chips and BEATME x was a distant 2nd on 15,707.

20 minutes later it was down to the final table with x crash154 still out in front and domiN06 moving into 2nd.

The Final Table;

x crash154 - 33,891 in chips
domiN06 - 18,020 in chips
BEATME x - 14,807 in chips
Raul Guerra - 14,015 in chips
schsch1 - 9,760 in chips
mr. braun - 9,386 in chips
waner1 - 8,298 in chips
anitazoran - 4,834 in chips
jayinch - 3,924 in chips
KristapsK3 - 3,065 in chips

The early going on the final table was cautious, with the only casualty being low stacked KristapsK3 who’s night ended at the hands of mr.braun’s and his pocket A’s.

However, in the shadows of the 2nd break the action cut loose with 3 consecutive hands seeing three players busted. waner1, anitazoran, and schsch1 were all the sent to the rail leaving only 6 players left standing.

With the blinds moving up to 500/1000 the players continued to fall and former chip leader x crash154 lost two big hands in a row and crashed out. Then BEATME x flopped a straight to knock out domiN06 and the payout structure was reached with only four players remaining.

The final four;

BEATME x - 55,483 in chips
jayinch - 29,616 in chips
Raul Guerra - 19,450 in chips
mr. braun - 15,451 in chips

Four quickly became three when Raul Guerra’s pocket Q’s dominated jayinch’s pocket 8’s and Raul Guerra took the chip lead going into three-handed play.

Raul Guerra then used his stack to bully mr. braun and BEATME x and at one stage pushed all-in pre-flop three hands in a row to steal the blinds. However, Raul Guerra got caught out pushing one too many times when BEATME x called an aggressive Raul Guerra’s push and turned over pocket J’s. BEATME x was out in front all the way and picked up four runners for a straight just to make a certainty of it.

Things got worse for Raul Guerra a few hands later when mr.braun limped in and Raul Guerra pushed all-in from the BB. mr.braun called and showed pocket T’s to be in front of Raul Guerra’s pocket 7’s. The board ran out with no improvement for either player and Raul Guerra dropped from chip leader down to a miserly 8,626 in chips in just a few hands.

Raul Guerra was all-in pre-flop again two hands later and was again called by BEATME x. They turned em’ over Raul Guerra was again behind with 4h Kh against BEATME x’s Ah 6c. The board ran out 9s 9c Ts Qd Qc giving both players the two pair on the board, but BEATME x’s Ah kicker played and ended Raul Guerra’s night in third place.

It was then down to heads up and the chip stacks very even;

mr.braun – 60,616 in chips
BEATME x – 59,384 in chips

For the next 30 minutes BEATME x and mr.braun regularly traded blows but neither player was able to land the knock out punch. However, by the 60th hand of heads up BEATME x managed to pull away to 93,700 in chips compared to mr.braun’s 26,300.

The big showdown then finally played out with both players all-in pre-flop and mr.braun showing Ah 7c against BEATME x’s pocket K’s. The race was on and the flop came 3c 7s 5s, giving mr.braun a pair of 7’s but still leaving him behind.

An A or 7 would do it for mr.braun, but the turn showed 6h and BEATME x took one step closer towards the $17500 WSOP package. An 8h showed on the turn and BEATME x’s pocket K’s held out for the big win!

BEATME x will now be livin’ it up in Vegas with Team PokerRoom.com at the WSOP Main Event, whilst mr.braun got $586.70 and a $500+$40 ticket for his efforts.
