Anything other Than English

May 7, 2008 09:07 AM. Post 1
Now that we have more Europeans in Pokah I have to pose the question.

Would you like to see more multilingual conversations or opportunities to speak in your own language.

How important is it to you and do you feel that it would create a divide between the English speaking members of the forums?

Suze

Honest opinion? You're about to open a can of worms.

Do the ^moderators know all the languages of the various players? Let's say someone comes speaking French, and no mods understand French. What happens when one French player curses and degrades another French player in the forum, or makes unacceptable posts. All other French speaking individuals might be offended, and the ^moderators wouldn't have a clue what was being said.

Do the ^moderators have enough staff and time to use language tools to translate every non-English post? If not, how will you even know what is being posted?

Suze, personally i got no problem speaking English as long as everyone do their best to understand memadhappy

Im not sure what u mean though.. I thought it was already "legal" to post in Pokah in any language u want.
Theres has been tons of german threads, and a few other threads made in foreign. Ive never seen them been corrected?surprised

Anyway, if its made legal, members start to make tons of foreign posts, who will be able to "mod" it?

Myself, i cover 4 languages, but im not around 24/7.. (well yes i am, who am i kiddinmad)

How many languages to all the pokah mods/playermods cover all together?

I think alot of the none English players do a very good job of speaking(?) English. ALot of them use alot better English than alot of the English people i know. You included Lyk.

Id have no problem with people speaking whatever language they want in Pokah! aslong as there is someway to moderate it as already said.

Is there no way to have the replies change with your personal language settings? I know it would need a language converter built in, but it would be good. You see the site, forums and all replies in the language of your choice.
