x crash154 Avoids any Collisions and Takes a WSOP Victory Lap - By Seth Shafer

Jun 18, 2008 12:00 AM. Post 1
Friday the 13th proved a lucky day for one PokerRoom.com player who would manage
to outlast a tough field of 40 competitors to take down the top prize of a $17,500
prize package to the 2008 WSOP.
zabo28 was the chip leader at the 1st break, with -Rex
Cramer- taking the pole position at the 2nd break. With the field cut
to just five survivors, there was a new leader in the form of x crash154:
Seat 1: x crash154 ($44,640 in chips)
Seat 3: -Rex Cramer- ($20,002 in chips)
Seat 4: TONO14 ($9,640 in chips)
Seat 7: biffo3x ($20,963 in chips)
Seat 10: zabo28 ($24,755 in chips)
With just three players remaining (x crash154, zabo28,
and TONO14), two of them would clash in a battle of big hands.
Zabo28 and x crash154 would find themselves
all-in pre-flop, with zabo28 holding the As Kc but in terrible
shape versus x crash154’s pocket rockets.
The aces held to give x crash154 a big lead when heads-up
play began:
Seat 1: x crash154 ($96,358 in chips)
Seat 4: TONO14 ($23,642 in chips)
He wouldn’t let the lead slip away, either, as TONO14
made his move with Ac 7c, shoving all-in pre-flop, but found himself up against
yet another big hand for x crash154, this time pocket kings.
Once again, the big hand held, with x crash154’s kings
good enough o take down the pot, the victory, and the $17,500 top prize, with
TONO14 collecting $586 plus a finals ticket for his 2nd place
finish.
