ASTODRAKO 1 , the only Greek member of PokerRoom.com's 2008 WSOP Main Event Team, is playing today in his first major live tournament. Taking his nickname from his family name which means dragon, ASTODRAKO 1 has only been playing poker for four months and actually qualified for the 2008 WSOP Main Event whilst playing at an Internet cafe. Pretty amazing when you consider he qualified through the 100k Guaranteed Tournament which was an absolute marathon!
Having not played much live poker before the tournament ASTODRAKO 1 has been playing plenty of cash games during his time in Vegas to try and get the feel for playing at a live table. He reported that despite taking a little while to adjust to the atmosphere, he is now feeling very confident that he will do well in the Main Event.
When I had a chat to him about his strategy for today's play he put it pretty simply, "I play to win".
