With 27 players remaining, play has ended for the day.
As day 3 commences tomorrow we will try and report the main developments and will be back will full coverage on Wednesday when the $10,000 Main Event gets underway.

It seems nothing can go wrong for Scott Clements who eliminates both pocketpower and CANIRANACE in one go.

Jacks for CANIRANACE, Ace-King for Pocketpower and aces for Scott Clements. He seems to have them on demand.

The Team has been on a good roll since hand one beating all the averages along the way, but when it mattered the most, lady luck was off drinking tea.

CANIRANACE finished the tournament in 33rd place while pocketpower went one better with 32nd.

All 8 Conquer Canada qualifiers, Pro for a Year JDtrojan3 and the two Airtime players, fluffbag and xbone666 have now been eliminated.

Fortunately this was only the warm-up and they'll all be back for the big-one on Wednesday.

And so will we!

Monday, October 23rd, 2006 Both of the remaining Conquer Canada qualifiers are now in deep trouble.

Pocketpower got involved in a hand with pocket nines.  And when the flop of 665 got checked around he made a move on the turn running head-first straight into kings.

Pocketpower is now down to 50,000.

Monday, October 23rd, 2006 Blinds at $1500-$3000 with a $400 ante.  Nine away from the money and no dinner break yet.  One more hour and we could hit the prize pool.

Monday, October 23rd, 2006 .. and gets the worst of it.

He's again down to about 40,000.

Pocketpower: 120,000.

We have 36 remaining and players are redrawing now.  The  Team PokerRoom players  just drew seats next to each other on table one. CANIRANACE seat 4, PocketPower seat 3.

This site is rigged (Irony!)

They are also going to have the pleasure of playing Scott Clements a WSOP bracelet winner in Omaha Hi Lo from this year and a WSOP Circuit winner in Lake Tahoe.

Monday, October 23rd, 2006 CANIRANACE moved all-in on a pocketpower raise, and after a lot of bantering and thinking-out-loud reasoning Pocketpower called.

Pocketpower: A9
CANIRANACE: AK

Before the flop was dealt, CANIRANACE kindy inquired if penalties would carry over to the main event week in case a nine hit.

It didn't and he doubled up while pocketpower suffered his first setback of the day.

Can't win them all...

Pocketpower: 115,000
CANIRANACE: 80,000

Monday, October 23rd, 2006 The last lady standing, Monica Reeves, has been eliminated.

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

CANIRACE: AA
Cooler-guy: QQ

Pocketpower raised under-the-gun to 7,200 with AdKd
CANIRANACE re-raised to 17,000.
Cooler-guy on his immediate left moved all-in for 44,000 with a pair of queens.
Pocketpower emerged from the tank with a decision to fold.
CANIRANCE announced "good fold" and called instantly with aces.

Alas, the flop brought a dreadful queen and the follow-up f-bomb brought another 10-minute penalty for CANIRANACE.

He fought back once, hopefully he can do it again.

With 40 players remaining, we're now just 13 spots away from the money.

27th pays roughly $7,000 (3xbuy-in) which is quite "generous" going by WPT standards.
