ARCHIVE FOR THE 'North American Poker Championship' Category

Monday, October 30th, 2006 It is 00:55 so if Soren and supporters all want to celebrate they need to fix something up quick, the bar closes in a hour!

Monday, October 30th, 2006 The Flop is 7 2 6 no flushes available.  Turn is a 4.  The river brings the Jack.  Soren wins and Sagle takes defeat like a gentleman.

Monday, October 30th, 2006 With only $10'000 yellow chips left it is getting much easier to se the split.  We are two hand in and Soren pushes all-in.  Sagle calls.  It is A5 off vs K2 off.

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Sagle and Soren are taking a break.  The pressure is mounting with very, very steep blind increases kicking in.  The crowd is pretty much split 50/50 with a slightly higher decibel level from Soren supporters.

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Sagle is sitting behind just around enough for his big blind.  Sagle is all in with A5 off vs 53 off.  Sagle wins and doubles up to just shy of a million with the blinds 200K - 400K.  He needs to double up maybe four times to win without taking a hit.

NEXT HAND

Sagle pushes all-in with K5 off and again and is called by Soren with A3 off.  The flop gives up a five and no more help.  Sagle gets his second double up.

Sagle is up to 2.2 million and is pushing for the come back of the WPT.  The blinds are getting raised to 300K - 600K.

..Sagle announces that Soren is bluffing..that would be a first for Soren...Sagle calls..Sagle shows A9 to Soren A3.

Sagle announces that was the best read of his life...here comes the flop, 5 9 2.  Any 4 will save Soren, the Turn is the 4.  Monster suck out.  The river is an 8.

Soren jumps into a massive chip lead!

Monday, October 30th, 2006 In a deliberate psych move Sagle is stacking his chips high so that Soren can see them above the fake presentation money..nice!

Monday, October 30th, 2006

The balance has shifted to Sagle who is predicting the end will come soon.  Soren walks to his supporters and explains that his cards were not worth half a million bucks.

Both players are seated again and look set to butt heads again...

Monday, October 30th, 2006 Soren is in the tank, after raising preflop to 900'000 Sagle comes over the top with an all-in.  Soren is sweating this one...

Monday, October 30th, 2006 The Gary Cooper approach of Soren is losing some ground to the talkative Sagle.  If Sagle can talk Soren into an all-in now with the better hand he will win.  The players are dead even and the blinds and antes are far enough away to not be a deciding factor now.
