A profitable Sunday night gives moggl08 17500 reasons to be happy.

Apr 24, 2008 With Friday and Saturday night already seeing four lucky players, ayliny, TurnDawg55, bjanko1, and Kris_the_Whiz, winning themselves $17500 WSOP packages, another 40 players registered for Sunday nights WSOP Final.

After two hours of play the field was whittled down to the top ten and there were some familiar names making it to the final table. 2nd place getter from Friday nights WSOP Final waner1 was sitting in 8th place on 7,848 in chips, and _SANDM4N_ who finished 4th in Saturday’s WSOP 100k Freeroll Final was one place down the list with 6110 in chips.

The best placed players at the final table were moggl08 with 21,079 in chips and was BETonGOOFY was 2nd with 20,560.

The final table;

moggl08 - 21,079 in chips
BETonGOOFY - 20,560 in chips
marike001 - 14,925 in chips
10_ralle_88 - 13,741 in chips
cedn15 - 11,347 in chips
actionsnake - 10,605 in chips
dunno_esc - 10,540 in chips
waner1 - 7,848 in chips
_Sandm4n_ - 6,110 in chips
sanchis078 - 3,245 in chips

Low stacked sanchis078 was the first to be busted on the final table when he ran into marike001’s flopped pair of T’s and was unable to improve his As Qd.

marike001 then had another victim moments later when he called waner1’s pre-flop all-in and his A high held out to beat waner1’s K high. The board ran out 4d 5h 9h 2s 8d with neither player improving their hand and marike001 took the chip lead.

marike001’s joy was short lived however, as he quickly surrendered the chip lead and then busted out in 7th after pushing all-in after the flop with top pair, but running into actionsnake who made trips on the flop with his pockets 2’s.

With the blinds moving up to 800/1600 it was soon down to the final five, with cedn15 out in front with 41 594. cedn15 then built on his lead, finding trip K’s on the turn and knocking out the low stacked 10_ralle_88 5th place.

The final four;

cedn15 - 45,676 in chips
BETonGOOFY - 33,474 in chips
moggl08 - 26,726 in chips
actionsnake - 14,124 in chips

mogg108 then sent actionsnake to the rail in 4th place and took the chip lead in the process moving to 54526 in chips.

Three handed play continued for 50 min without too much heavy action until the blinds cranked up to 2000/4000 and BETonGOOFY found himself short staked under pressure to defend his big blind. He moved all-in with flop showing Ts 7c 3c. mogg108 called and showed a strong Qh 7s against BETonGOOFY ‘s 4h 7h.

The turn showed a 4c giving BETonGOOFY two pair 4’s and 7’s and an unlikely lead.

The river then showed a Th giving both players two pair T’s and 7’s, but mogg108’s Qh kicker played ending BETonGOOFY’s night in 3rd place.

mogg108 went into heads up with 95000 and a huge chip lead over cedn15 who was sitting on 25000. However, an inspired 10 min of heads up play saw cedn15 wrestle the chip lead from mogg108 and at the 4th break was up 76000 to 44000.

It wasn’t long though until mogg108 struck back, with the decisive hand playing out shortly after the players returned from the break. With 26 000 in the pot and the flop showing Qc 3h Qh mogg108 checked the action to cedn15 who bet out 10K.

mogg108 called and when the turn showed 4c mogg108 again passed the action to cedn15 who bet out with 15k. mogg108 then pushed all-in over the top, bumping it up to 30k.

cedn15 called and showed pocket 6’s but was in need of another 6 on the river when mogg108 showed pocket J’s. The river showed 9c and mogg108 took the biggest chip lead of the night with 104000 to 16000.

cedn15 was extremely low stacked and predictable pushed all-in a few hands later with the board showing 2d 7c 3s 9h 4c. mogg108 made an easy call and showed 5h 6c making a 7 high straight which was enough to cover cedn15 who showed 7h 4h for two pair.

mogg108 is now off to Vegas in July to compete in the WSOP Main Event as part of his $17500 package for 1st place. cedn15 picked a $500+$40 ticket and $586.66 for his 2nd place.

A great effort by mogg108 to outlast and outplay the other 39 players and we will look forward to see him playing as part of Team PokerRoom.com in a few months time!
