Record prize pool in the Grand Tournament, congratulations winner arttu5!

Mar 17, 2006 The Grand Tournament, that was held on Saturday, January 1, 2005, set a new record – never before has the prize pool in one of PokerRoom.com’s tournaments been as large as this time! 233 players participated in the 1000+0 NL Texas Hold’em tournament. Winner arttu5, from Finland, won no less than $73,395 – congratulations!

Because of a human error on our part the promised $50 extra per player was not included in the original prize pool. Of course we will credit the winners their extra money, which brings the total prize pool to a staggering $244,650!

Since the tournament was such a success you can all rest assured that the Grand Tournament will be back - with some modifications to make it even better. Stay tuned for an announcement within the next couple of weeks with complete details about Grand Tournament II.
