Sharkscope V OPR

May 18, 2008 06:37 AM. Mensaje 1
Which is better, for example which tracks all your results including SNG wins, I know OPR only tracks MTT's My stats are not great by any means, but on Sharkscope Im over 900 down, and on OPR I have won around 300, which for a start is complete BS, if I'm counting SNG's For example I won 3 x 3T sng's that was around the $50 mark each, not counting the 10 Players sng's that I have won. I'm guessing but around the 20 0r so mark at $25 a POP, then there are the Regular games which I have picked up around $200-$300 in. Not to mention Pvt games.

Wondering?

Oh nosad

Yet another Scope vs OPR thread..
The 6th this year?

Im sry Ice, nothing personally, im just sick of it.mad Cant we just bump a old thread?

At OPR someone told me i got minus 12 % ROI, on the scope i got pluss 27 ROI.

Both sites are completely wrong. My current bankroll is twice the size the profit the scope has on me.. And thats after cashing out...

OPR- MTT
Scope-STT

Both are wrong..

If u wanna know how a player is doin look at the graph and recent results. And multiply his/her profit with 2 for every 500 games played, either in negative or positive direction. -At least ure closer to the truth then in most cases...

And no trackingsite include ring..

Im up at SS but thats because it doesnt recor all the rebuy enterings. Not that I do many rebuys in a tournement but imo rebuys are not registered at all at SS.

I am way down at OPR because it doesnt track the SNG's.

Fact is i'm about even in tournement play and a loser in cash games (which i try not to play anymore untill i figured out SS2 completely, remember me to blog later...)

I must admit these stat sites are awful. I checked out one of my skin site names the other night and it was horrible reading very_happy

Considering I`ve made a few $`s there, esp in rings, I was surprised to see such awful figures.I did win a few BD tiks there without cashing and that seems a bit unfair as each tik only cost me $3+.40 lol.But they appear, it seems, as lost buy-in.

I won`t be checking myself out again!very_happy

I agree with Lyk that this subject has been beaten to death but...

I find Sharkscope to be very unreliable as it does track some MTTs, therefore skews the results of the STTs (u can filter them though). But in addition to this the number of stts it misses for ongame is ridiculous - i mean A LOT.

OPR - i have found it to be very reliable, it tracks every single tournament i play and always has the correct results. My profit column on OPR and my spreadsheet do differ though because OPR doesn't know how many rebuys I've had - but it isn't too far off.

My advice would be not to use either of these tools to calculate your own winnings, but use them as a tool to judge the likely playing level of your opponents. You need to be very careful though in what you read into them.

When playing in a MTT, this is how i use OPR:

1) What's their average buy in?

- this allows me to ascertain if they are experienced/comfortable playing at whatever level they are playing. In late stages of a tournament i will be more likely to bully players with low average buy ins.

2) What sample size do they have? - ie how many tournies have they played, be sure to flick to full tracking as well. This is important as any conclusion you come to can be compltely off if they've played a small number of tournies.

3) What's their ROI/profit? - if they have a large sample size and a positive roi, they likely no how to play. If they have a negative roi, but a small sample size - this does not mean that they will be bad.

4) If they have a positive roi/profit, i will then sort their results only showing their cashes, to see what they have won, to see what they are capable of winning, and to get an idea of whether they will be out of their depth deep in a higher buy in tourny.

Finally i always put a note on anyone i OPR, detailing ABI, sample size and ROI and any wins of note. And update the note based on their play.

Pug.
