StakeajakeWon't Need a Stake for the WSOP - by Seth Shafer

Jun 6, 2008 With the WSOP online finals running 7 days a week now at PokerRoom, every day is like a little WSOP Christmas, with a player guaranteed to win a $17,500 prize package each and every day.

Wednesday's WSOP finals featured a few familiar faces (including whassup x, -Rex Cramer-, and 8kenzo8) as well as a blast from the past in the form of moo-, who was on Team PokerRoom for last year's event and ended up cashing for nearly $50,000.

NNickel2 was the leader at the first break, with -Rex Cramer- taking control at the 2nd break. With 11 players left, though, it was moo- who had knocked some rust off his game to take the lead:

moo-:18,530
NNickel2: 18,102
wheelguyII Plovdiv: 15,979
-Rex Cramer-:14,304
whassup x: 12,018
spaceace986: 10,848
wyll033: 8,305
mathiesen123: 5,962
alexnongchai: 5,942
hsvhsv: 5,060
Stakeajake: 4,950

That lead, though, would fail to ultimately hold up, as moo-'s bid to book a return trip to the WSOP fell a little short with him finishing in 3rd ($293 + a ticket to a future online finals). That left spaceace986 and Stakeajake to duke it out for first place, with Stakeajake coming all the way bac from the short stack at the final table to be in the thick of things.

And it was Stakeajake who emerged victorious in the end, taking home the top prize of a $17,500 prize package to the WSOP with spaceace986 collecting $586 + a ticket for his runner-up finish. As always, congrats to all the players who made it out for yet another successful WSOP online finals that sent yet another player with Team PokerRoom to the 2008 Main Event in Las Vegas.
