best of luck mate. We're all creeping around 100 i think, i did have almost 145 yesterday, but suffered a series of 5 dollar losses then that 20 dolar one stung hard with the sick 3% beat. I'm with you, trying to make it to the 200 mark asap. I wouldn't go for a 50 just yet, maybe 20% your bankroll at most. We'll get out of poker hell soon enough

Poker hell has officialy been named 5 dollar games... by me very_happy I did get a decent one before though, my heads up oponent in the longhanded game was quite good.

good luck mate!

Most Rats seem to be playing $5 or£10 SNGs . Why aint the Rats playing cash games. Give it a try.

If I remember correctly, the rats who tried cash games too early last time got into a mess. I think the additional rake makes the variance worse, or something.

It does sound as if the NLHE $5 SnGs are packed out with rats, though. very_happy

I actually did fine playing 25NL.

My problem was I never was confident enough to start playing MTTs, and once JW, amh, and Ratty started moving, it was clear that I was going to need a big score to catch up.

(I think I did finish ahead of Ratty, but that's only because he made a run up past 1K and then, in a glorious moment in LabRat history, laid it all on the line for the Grand tourney).

Ok, after another long frustrating day im on a break until greenroom starts in less than 60 min.

I was really close to go over 100 bucks (my first goal today) in the very first sng.
-but with 5 players left i was involved in a 3 way all in. I had QQ vs AQ vs AK, leaving them 5 outs preflop. AQ got a flush...

Im still beeing ul, badbeats are still there, but mostly im carddead.

Cute story from fishtank (not really):
Me and Rat 19 share table. Rat 19 was down to 40 chips but did an awsome cb to 4K, when she doubled up on chipleader for another 4 K.
I was in good shape with 6K when chipleader the very next hand put me all in, since he lost big to rat 19 i thought he tilted and called him with AK. He had TT leaving me 6 outs and took me out.
I was happy with Rat 19,s cb, but it ironicly lead to my death. I would have folded if i didnt think he was tilting.

After a long hard day, im actually down another 9 bucks.
But im still at 85, and it could have been way worse.
Day is not over yetwink

I´ve noticed, that almost everyone of these LabRat blogs have turned into badbeat-blogs. It hard to make it in the fishtank sad

Ure right Keisari about the badbeats, and my theory is simple:

All the rats are used to play with less monkeys.. as in, not the 5,50.

If we started with 200 i think the competition would be less of a fluke in the beginning.

Once the rats pass the 200 line, the real competition starts imo. The first 100 is a bit ch to make thoughsad

Miniravioli is in the lead.. after 3 days of intensive playing.
And he has stated he got 125 bucks....

Its tough on us all.

WTG though mini

Thats absolutely true Lyka...the lower level games are a roulette. You would really need a much bigger BR (or a bucket of luck) to make your way up safely. I quess we´ve all been there and know how frustrating it can be.

Try to keep calm and your spirits up. The only advice I would give if your still planning on playing the 5+0.5 sng. Try the 5 handed ones first...less callers = less bingo. Overbet when the blinds are small. Don´t try to steal or bluff at all, when the blinds are small. Steal like crazy when the blinds go up and in the bubble. The low-level donks won´t mind busting early, but are usually deadafraid of the bubble.

I quess thats some basic information, which you already know, but I thought it would be a good reminder for someone, that is used to a better level of opponents.
