With just over 220,000 in chips and blinds at 12,000/24,000 .IMPALER. declares it is time to step it up and loosen it up.

And as play resumes after the break he moves all-in  on the two first hands stealing about 120,000 in total.

A couple of hands later he comes over the top of  Victor Ramdin who hesitantly calls.

S0 we're looking good. A blank flop later and we're in even better shape, but runner runner jacks ruins the day.

.IMPALER. takes 28th position and $87,875 in prize money.

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006 Flop Q45. .IMPALER. checks on the flop, the guy sitting on his right bets 80,000, which .IMPALER. calls. The turn comes with a 4 and .IMPALER. again checks, as does his opponent. The river is a Queen, and .IMPALER. checks again, and his opponent bet 100,000 and .IMPALER. folds. They are now down to the final four tables - 34 players remaining.

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006 After .IMPALER. raised under the gun to 60,000 the big blind called. The flop came down 24J (two hearts) and the big blind bet out 80,000. Instantly .IMPALER. moved all-in for an additional 200,000 and the big blind folded. He's now got close to 500,000. The blinds are now 10,000/20,000 with a 3,000 ante, and 42 players are still in.

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006 At the second break for the day, 42 players remains in the Fontana Lounge at the Bellagio. One of them is a young brittish gentleman who plays on PokerRoom.com under the nickname .IMPALER.... He says he hasn't gotten any cards at all today, but he's managed to pick up a couple of small pots to stay afloat. He's got 360,000 in chips and is guaranteed at least $58,000. The next step up in the payscale triggers at 40 players, and will earn him another $18,000 or so.

Before today's action got under way, we had a quick chat with .IMPALER.

It turns out he's been practising hard  playing short-stacked poker in the no limit cash games on PokerRoom.com leading up to this event. And he credits much of his success yesterday to those hours spent playing all-in poker.

Good to see such determination pay off.

We're now down to 52 players and after the re-draw .IMPALER. is back in position on Patrik Antonious who came within a six outer from busting .IMPALER. on the last hand yesterday.

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006 Sadly, Carlos Zambrano has justed Colson10.

Colson10 exits the tournament in 64th place picking up $43,935 making .IMPALER. the top Team PokerRoom.com finisher in the 2006 WPT Championship.

For those who chose  .IMPALER. when depositing using the APRILTAG code a raffle will be held on Thursday where five players will win  $620+30 WSOP Satellite tickets.

The Team got three players into the money in this tournament, and as 72 players remain, so does still two Team players - colson10 and .IMPALER.. In the last hand of the day, .IMPALER. was saved by a four-outer to a chop for his future tournament existance. The board read 3526 when Patrik Antonius bet out, .IMPALER. raised all-in for another 280,000 and change and Antonius called instantly. .IMPALER. showed pocket Tens, but Antonius had flopped a set of Deuces.
