allypat7 Stands Pat With a WSOP Seat in Hand - By Seth Shafer

Jun 17, 2008 Last Thursday’s WSOP online finals at PokerRoom drew yet another packed house, with 40 players vying for the top prize of a $17,500 prize package to the 2008 WSOP.

ziko86 got out to an early lead at the 1st break, with allypat7 surging to the top at the 2nd break, holding onto the lead when action was 5 handed:

gohabs99: 34,011
storck07: 31,262
-James.Bond- : 6,566
Iron_Iron: 6,380

-James.Bond- would see his run end in 3rd place (worth $293 + a finals ticket), a strong showing after his 2nd place finish in the online finals the previous day. That’d set up a heads-up battle between allypat7 and storck07 with the top prize of a $17,500 trip package awaiting the winner.

In the end allypat7 prevailed, riding the chip lead for much of the tournament to 1st place, with storck07 having to settle for a 2nd place finish worth $586 plus a ticket.
