Cruising for Chips at Reunions

Nov 26, 2007 Last Sunday saw another installment in the series of online reunion tournaments that PokerRoom.com is running for players that have represented PokerRoom.com at major live events this year. This reunion edition was for Swedish PokerRoom.com players who had taken part in the Poker Cruise 2007 event, which AceofEss took down for a cool 158,000 Swedish kronor!

14 players turned out for the online reunion tournament: Cadillac--, Captain_A, JuliaP73, Pokerelias, Seagul4711, Aceofess, LarssKongo, KlonkoBerro, srehn, snygg-jonaz, noooooll, Pagge123, PainSoSweet, and MrZzznake. They’d be battling for a $50 + $4 ticket for first place and a $7 + $1 ticket for second, as well as a bounty of a $50 +$4 ticket for whoever knocked out AceofEss.

Action was hot and heavy early on, with just six players remaining at the first break. Captain_A held the chip lead with about 15,000, with Cadillac-- in second (12,000) and JuliaP73 in third (8,000).

Captain_A would claim the bounty on AceofEss’s head when he was bounced in 6th place, with KlonkoBerro (who was absent the entire tournament) finishing 5th, and srehn taking 4th place.

JuliaP73 would bow out on the bubble, finishing 3rd when K Q was no match for Captain_A’s A 5. That would set up an epic heads-up battle between Captain_A and Cadillac--, with the players butting heads for many hands before a winner was finally declared.

While Cadillac-- held the chip lead for much of heads-up play, just when he seemed ready to finish it off Captain_A would battle back to stay alive. In the end, though, Cadillac--‘s stack was just too much, and he took down 1st prize for the $50 +$4 ticket, with Captain_A claiming the second place prize of a $7 + $1 ticket.

Many thanks to all the players who turned out and congratulations to the winners. These events have been a great chance for players from the live events to catch up with one another and snag some tournament tickets that they can hopefully parlay into another great trip representing Team PokerRoom.com at a future live event.
