WPT Five Diamond Classic: Up Close and Personal With Huempel

Dec 6, 2007 Huempel is the second half of the German contingent on the team (along with M.Macho) for the Five Diamond Classic, looking for fame and riches at the Bellagio on his very first trip to Las Vegas.

His plan if he’s lucky enough to take down first place prize money? Buying a secluded island, if there are any left.

"I’ve been playing poker for about two years now and mostly play online poker as opposed to live. I play a mixture of Sit&Gos, tournaments, and fixed limit cash games ($10/20 and 15/30 mainly, sometimes 25/50).

I won the ticket to the online finals through a $50 + $4 satellite. I’ve taken part in two bigger live events before, the Ongame Network Poker Classic in Barcelona 2006 (ITM) and the Great British Poker Tour Grand Final in Bristol this month (NITM).

Hobbies outside of poker include football/soccer and punk-rock music.

I have a diploma in history. Not so easy to find a job so call me a semi-professional poker player for now."
