Jun 18, 2008 With just two days left to grab a spot on Team PokerRoom.com for the 2008 WSOP, the action was hot and heavy in the online finals on Saturday, with a full field of 40 players all jockeying for a coveted top prize of a $17,500 trip package.

salvatori27 held the lead at the first break, with E.D woopass at the head of the pack at the 2nd break. When the final five were reached, yet another player, biffo3x, was at the top of the field:

Seat 5: salvatori27 ($4,673 in chips)
Seat 6: dematch AA ($38,597 in chips)
Seat 8: biffo3x ($41,084 in chips)
Seat 9: MrAkwell ($20,232 in chips)

On life support when action was five handed, salvatori27 was still alive when action was three-handed, but biffo3x appeared to be poised to run away with it:

Seat 2: sak31 ($21,082 in chips)
Seat 5: salvatori27 ($20,852 in chips)
Seat 8: biffo3x ($78,066 in chips)

His lead was slightly smaller when heads-up play began, with salvatori27 still hanging in there:

Seat 8: biffo3x ($70,510 in chips)

salvatori27 won a huge hand when he flopped a straight to essentially seal the victory and the come from behind win, with the rest of biffo3x’s chips sliding his way a few hands later. Congrats to salvatori27 on taking down the $17,500 trip package and to biffo3x for the runner-up finish worth $586 + a ticket.
