What Does PokerRoom.com do?
Prohibited Program Policy
PokerRoom.com separates poker software tools into two different categories:
1. Tools that provide a fair advantage to a player. These are allowed to use while playing at PokerRoom.com
2. Software tools that provide an unfair advantage to a player. Poker bots are included in this category and these are strictly prohibited with zero tolerance.
Any player using programs in the prohibited category is considered cheating, regardless of type of game and if it is a real or play money game. Read more here.
State of the art Anti-Collusion Systems
Our state-of-the-art anti-collusion systems are continuously analyzing hand histories in our secure database and searching for suspicious playing patterns. Any player that attempts to collude at PokerRoom.com will be permanently banned from our games. If in the unlikely event you are affected by a confirmed collusion, you will be reimbursed. Read more here.
IP Address Check
This is an extension to the anti-collusion system that prevents players with the same IP address to join the same Ring Game table, Single Table tournaments or Multi Table tournaments. The fact that only one player per IP address can join the same tournament or ring game table is an effective method to counteract collusion between players in the same room or even one player with multiple accounts.
Please note that password protected Private Tournaments are excluded from the IP block.
Multi Table Tournament Multi-Account Policy
Ongame Network (which PokerRoom.com is a part of) allows players to register accounts with multiple Network Operators, but has the policy that an individual may only register for any single tournament from one of these accounts. This means that the risk for multiple account participants in tournaments is reduced.
Read more about the policy here.
Secure Communications
PokerRoom.com uses the industry standard Thawte SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificates offering secure communications by encrypting all data to- and from the site.
