Wieringen steps up to the plate and knocks one out of the park on Sunday night.

Apr 30, 2008 12:00 AM. Messaggi 1
Sunday night saw another big WSOP Final with the maximum 40 players registering for their shot at the $20,000 guaranteed pot.

As usual there were plenty of familiar names amongst the field, with Pokah favourite -Rex Cramer- taking another shot at the $17500 WSOP first prize package, and Wieringen trying to better his final table finish in Saturday night’s WSOP Final.

After just over two hours of twists and turns it got down the final table with Gabikonor out in front on 26,938 in chips, and pokah-UK in 2nd with 22,700. -Rex Cramer- and Wieringen both made it to another final table, but -Rex Cramer- was short stacked in 10th place.

The final table;

Gabikonor - 26,938 in chips
pokah-UK - 22,700 in chips
jeeeeyves - 21,711 in chips
jc_jc - 17,046 in chips
Wieringen - 9,005 in chips
Micha72 - 6,270 in chips
kowatz - 4,830 in chips
kevin2033 - 4,690 in chips
picsou62 - 3,770 in chips
-Rex Cramer- - 3,040 in chips

It wasn’t to be -Rex Cramer-‘s night, as he was the first busted from the final table. picsou62 then followed -Rex Cramer- to the rail when he was busted in 9th.

jeeeeyves then got himself in the thick of the action when he firstly took the chip lead by knocking out Micha72 with a Q high flush, and then when his paired J was enough to bust kevin2033 in 6th.

With the play five-handed, Wieringen made a big move and took the chip lead when his pocket Q’s found Qs Kh Kd on the flop and he knocked out Gabikonor in 5th.

The final four;

Wieringen - 49,522 in chips
jeeeeyves - 46,036 in chips
pokah-UK - 12,410 in chips
jc_jc - 12,032 in chips

Wieringen extended his chip lead when his all-in shove was called by the short stack, jc_jc and Wieringen’s Ah 9c held out against jc_jc’s KsQs.

Wieringen then continued his great run by knocking out jeeeeyves a few hands later. With 7200 in the pot and Qh 5h 6s on the board jeeeeyves bet out 7K. Wieringen then pushed his big stack in the middle and jeeeeyves called with everything he had. Wieringen turned over Jh 8h giving him the flush draw and jeeeeyves showed pocket 7’s giving him a nervous lead. The turn then showed 9h giving Wieringen the flush and jeeeeyves was cooked.

Wieringen’s three consecutive kills gave him a huge chip lead going into heads up with 97,300 in chips to pokah-UK with 22,700.

Things then got much worse for pokah-UK when he went ‘away’ and was blinded down to 6000. As soon as pokah-UK returned he pushed all-in pre-flop and Wieringen made the easiest of calls and turned over Ks8d to pokah-UK’s 3h6h.

Wieringen was well in front picked up two pair on the flop of 5c Kc 8C for good measure. 7s then dropped on the turn and it was all over, Wieringen was the winner and the $17500 WSOP package was his. pokah-UK was un lucky to be blinded out for so long, but he did well, picking up a $500+$40 ticket and $586 for his 2nd place.
