foxystong is the 2006 Poker Classic Champion after nudging out KILL U in heads-up play.
Ace high was enough to take the hand and the title, when fox's A/8 bested KILL U's King/3 with a board showing 4/2/4/6/Q.
It took almost 12 hours of play on day 2 to determine to the champ, a champ who takes home $239,383.75 plus the Gold card protector trophy (valued at $10,000)
After striking a deal with foxystong pre heads-p, KILL U goes home, via Amsterdam (he's taking a well earned eurotrip!) with a prize of $199,383.75!
A fantastic tournament, it has to be said. Great organization, great venue, great poker, and last but not least... a great winner!
Congratulations to all players for making the Poker Classic, 'THE' biggest event of 2006!
Adios! from Barcelona... OLE!!
Another victim of the fox, Stewart531 bows out in a very respectable 4th place earning $99,034.
Foxystong is now up to nearly 500000. On a side note, I hear foxystong won over $200,000 in events at this year's WSOP. If he comes out on top tonight, then he'll be doubling up his year's winnings. No wonder the boy from Birmingham is planning to take a year away from poker after the Classic.
A few wireless issues at the Gran Casino has meant that we haven't been able to keep you updated over the last hour or so, but we're back and this is how the final table looks. We'll fill in the other gaps shortly...
