The Team PokerRoom.com roster for the upcoming event at Niagara Falls is definitely tilted towards the Canadian side, as four of the seven team members hail from Canada. Here’s the full team roster, along with their home countries:

There have also been rumors that some other Canadian PokerRoomers might pop up at the tournament as well, including nammer4life (who just missed cashing at this year’s inaugural WSOPE), moo- (who cashed for over $50,000 at this year’s WSOP Main Event) as well as Canadian Pokah veteran wheelerleo.
It shouldn’t be hard to pick out Team PokerRoom.com at the event (they’ll be wearing PokerRoom.com gear and sitting on huge mounds of chips) so don’t be shy about introducing yourself, if you’re a PokerRoomer and are at the WPT Canada event.

The days are ticking down to the start of the WPT North American Poker Championship in Niagara Falls, Canada, as most of Team PokerRoom.com is scheduled to arrive on October 24th at the posh Fallsview Casino.
I always get a bit anxious and nervous before these events start (what if my flight is delayed or cancelled; what if my luggage gets lost; what if I go to check in at the hotel and my reservation is missing; what if the tournament area isn’t set up with wireless Internet access for posting blog updates) and I’m just the blogger for these events; I can only imagine what runs through players’ heads before these events.
While some are seasoned pros of major tournaments – such as WSOP Main Event veterans whassup x and gbpoker – other Team PokerRoom.com members will be playing in their first big live event.
In the past we’ve had a few team members who have never played in a live event of any sort before making their tournament debut in PokerRoom.com colors, so there will very likely be some nervous players, right up until the tournament starts.
But never fear, as the nerves quickly disappear and settle down as everyone arrives, gets checked in, and the crack PokerRoom.com staff takes over, ensuring that everyone is registered for the event, and that they get a nice meal and a few adult beverages in their bellies.
Players start chatting, inevitably talking poker, and the realization sets in that hey, they’re here on the trip of a lifetime, about to play in a major WPT poker tournament, and that they have just as good of a shot as anyone at playing great poker and winning money in the tournament. Sure, the odds are better if you’re a seasoned pro, but each and every year unknown players come out of nowhere to win WPT and WSOP events, so why not you?
So hopefully all the players aren’t too nervous as we get closer and closer to the “shuffle up and deal” announcement at the WPT North American Poker Championship. Not only will you do just fine, but you’re about to experience the poker trip of a lifetime, and will have lots of folks following your successes through the blog and rooting for you in the Pokah community.
