Woken up by a call from young nammer explaining that he was off to Paris for a couple of days. I spoke to him just before he left, he seemed astonishingly up beat about the whole affair. Although I have to say nammer has handled defeat in much the same way as he handled his success. He has approached the entire tournament with an extremely positive and realistic attitude. Good on ya fella and enjoy Paris.
Bon Voyage
Just want to give a thanks out to mussorgsky, in fact thanks to everyone who has given a shout to Team PokerRoom.com. I am still pretty chewed up by the circumstance and the beat. However, knowing nammer, as soon as he gets his full english breakfast down tomorrow, he'll be fighting fit and ready for the cash games. In all seriousness, I just want to say how bloody proud PokerRoom is of him and all the lads. They came and faced a short tight field. Whether it was The.Jones facing devilfish, Gutenburg1 squaring up to Johnny Chan or nammer4life sitting down next to Hellmuth, each one of them stood up to the task handed to them and delivered.
The guys are cooling off at the hotel now, just as the bubble is about to burst.
On a flop of JC,6C,4S, Colman pushed 12,000 and Nammer called. Nammer's face was cold, totally emotionless. The turn came the 7D. Colman came with another bet of 12,000, nammer pushed it up to 40,000 and Colman thought for a very long time. I swear I could hear nammer's heart beat, especially the added tension of the bubble, and then "All-in". Nammer jumped to his feet instantly and called, showing 7C,7S to collect his trips. Colman turned over 8H,8C.
The river 8S. Nammer paused, then struck the table, in frustration more than anger. As I saw nammer's eyes beginning to well up, I felt my own doing the same.
That as they say... is that.
nammer is out... The hand is coming through but I may be too cut up to write it. 38th Position, you did us proud fella but most importantly you've done yourself proud.
Another elimination from nammer's table, Lee Nelson hits the rail up against a seemingly unstoppable Kenny Tran, taking us down to 41.
How much is to be believed I don't know, but the TM said when nammer's table breaks, it's money time. "You are the next table to break"
Here is that table:

The crowds in Leicester Square are already getting behind nammer.

My colleagues will be shedding a tear in pride at that effort.
Of course anyone who has read a 3 minute article on poker tournaments is now predicting a great tighten up and slow down in to the evening. I was lucky enough to witness a few hands just before dinner, and was assuming this slow down would be in full affect, but I heard two all-in calls from the floor, so who knows. Of course after (a way too long) dinner break players will maybe be thinking twice. Although looking at the counts, while there has been a steadying of the average, at least the bottom 6 will be looking to double up. While I doubt a mass exodos, I don't think the pace will slow quite as much as anticipated.
Nammer4life is taking it nice an easy outside of the casino with Mrs nammer. Again he is beginning to draw attention from photographers and media a like. I think its because he is generally a quite chap at the felt, but when pot goes his way, his larger than life reaction is something to behold.
Not surprisingly nammer has been siting very quietly after that magnificent double up, which is more than can be said for his opponents. Jesus... plenty of complaining.
I was just going through my browser windows after all this commotion, I had the old chip count open. Before clicking refresh with great satisfaction, I saw nammer on 60k 5 from bottom. hmmmm I love that refresh button. He's not down there no more.
