goranz4 Sets Sail for PokerIsland - By Seth Shafer

Aug 21, 2008 Sunday was time to book another player’s ticket to PokerIsland, with 81 players qualifying for the online finals that would send one lucky to player to PokerIsland where they’d try to win a poker pro sponsorship deal worth $100,000. topolino1308 - 11,581 topolino1308 was the short stack with three players left and appeared to be heading out the door when his Ah 10h was up against Tomdicker ‘s 10c 10d, but topolino1308 turned a flush to stay alive, and doubled again shortly through goranz4 when his pocket nines held versus goranz4’s Ah Kh. goranz4 knocked out Tomdicker, setting up the following heads-up action: Seat 1: goranz4 ($74,176 in chips)
Seat 7: topolino1308 ($47,324 in chips) The two battled back and forth for awhile before finally getting all of the chips in the middle pre-flop, with goranz4 in great shape with his As Kh versus topolino1308’s Ad Qc. The board ran out 4c Ks Ac Qh Th, giving goranz4 top two pair to not only take down the hand but to secure the victory and his spot on PokerIsland. And what awaits him on PokerIsland? Plenty of fun and sun but more importantly: poker. The goal of PokerIsland is to win the $100,000 poker pro sponsorship deal that the final winner will receive, which includes trip packages to the WSOP and WPT events. There are now three different paths to make it to PokerIsland: qualifying in cash games for the online final by meeting the weekly qualification hand; winning daily and weekly freerolls; and playing your way into the weekly online finals through the new $1 + $0.1 PokerIsland Cheaprolls. This week’s cash game qualification is: Week 10 - Flush on the Flop, Straight on the River
You flop the flush, your opponent gets the straight on the river. You must be playing Texas Hold ’em Ring Games for Real Money. You must use both cards in your hand. Your hand must reach showdown and win. There must be at least 3 players seated in the hand.
