ARCHIVE FOR THE 'GT 3' Category

Monday, August 8th, 2005

For a total of 13 hours the GT3 was loaded with amazing laydowns, big hands, horrendous beats and a very worthy winner!
All-in all the GT3 was one helluva ride to follow and I guess an even bigger thrill to play in.

As always, a lot of the pre-game favs had to leave early, but a few lived up to their rep.

Both Icemann10 and Rocker xx, representing Team PR, barely missed the final table.
And maybe the biggest pre-game fav of all, Gank, busted out in 18th after delivering one heart-stopping performance "Ganking" ppl left and right.

But best of all the stars fared LuckyIsAs... who is the NEW reigning GT champion scoooping home  $121,000!

Heads-up with Kezner420, who can't be too dissapointed  after his mad run on the final table hitting a 5 outer on the river to stay alive and then doubling up back to back on the two following hands, LuckyIsAs.. had a 4 to 1 chip lead and although even at one point it was more or less over when he nailed QUAD FIVES against Kez's AA555 boat.

A hand that will be talked about for a very long time.. esp as the rumour of a "misclick" is spreading...

3rd place finisher ReverseUp also deserves a mentioning after playing (IMHO) best of all and managing to put Lucky all-in with 10s when Lucky had 9s..

But alas a turn 9 saved Lucky there!

Lucky also earned mmmtx a WPT Bellagio Stage one ticker for correctly prediciting LuckyIsAs.. as the winner in Pokah!

The Lobby chat banter was great, the action was leagues ahead of slow 30-hands-an-hour live tournaments and the field was stronger than ever.

I hope you all look forward to the GT4! We know we do!

C u at the tables!

Three clubs (again) on the flop gives Lucky a way out. But after turning a nine he doesn't need the flush.

Lucky now has almost 3KK! RevUp back down to 800K and ...WOW.. two hands later Lucky takes him out with a pocket pair against A9!

RevUp out in third. We're heads up with LuckyIsAs. taking on kezner420!

Sunday, August 7th, 2005 Altough out in fourth Castell might no longer regard tournaments as a complete waste of time.

LuckyIsAs... took him out with three tens.

LuckyIsAs.. is also known as DoubleLucky and is ranked high on www.pocketfives.com.

Sunday, August 7th, 2005 OC somehow got all his chips in with 10 7 os... ReverseUp called with 33..
