Specific Phone Issues

Some phones require additional settings or "tricks" in order to support online game play.

Settings should be defined in Web -> Settings -> Configuration Settings -> Configuration. Here you can find settings downloaded from operators.
Settings -> Configuration Settings -> Preferred access point should be set to the configuration from the step above When going online the phone asks for confirmation from the user to go online, answer OK and supply username/password if needed by operator.

Change settings for phone browser: Web->Settings->Downloading settings: automatic saving should be set to Off

All SonyEricsson Handsets

All SonyEricsson handsets have a special Internet configuration option for Java applications. It states which communication profile should be used by the Java applications. This option must be set to the correct Internet profile for the specific operator. The default Internet profile should the profile for full Internet access.

Samsung D500

This section describes how to set up a Samsung D500 in order to be able to use socket connections from a J2ME midlet:

1. Download or manually enter the GPRS settings provided by your mobile operator.
2. Go to the "Browser" -> "Profile settings" and select the profile from the list.
3. If the "Proxy" is enabled, open the "GPRS settings" menu and note the IP address. Return to the previous screen.
4. Disable the proxy.
5. Open the "GPRS settings" menu again and enter the IP address from step 3 in the field labelled "DNS1". Leave the other fields unchanged.

NOTE! It is possible to set similar options in the "Applications" -> "Java world" -> "Settings" menu. DO NOT enter any values in that menu.

In step 3, if the "Proxy" is already disabled, just return to the previous screen, open "GPRS settings" and check that the "DNS1" field is set to some value. The application should work without any modification of the settings. If not, contact your mobile operator in order to obtain the correct DNS address.
