All tournaments rely on a blind structure to define how and when the blinds in the tournament are to go up. All blind structures on PokerRoom.com, scheduled and Sit & Go tournaments alike, are time-based. This means that each level ends after a set number of minutes.

There are three factors defining a blind structure:

1. The length of each level.
2. The blinds of each level.
3. The antes of each level.

Currently only 7-card stud tournaments incorporate antes.

There is an endless variation of payout structures in use on PokerRoom.com but by far the most common are:

1. Regular
Used for most tournaments on PokerRoom.com. Four variations of this structure exist with 3 minute, 10 minute, 12 minute and 15 minute levels respectively. See below for full details.

2. Grand
Regarded as the best tournament structure online by many players. Reserved for our special big-stack events, this structure comes in two variations – one with 20 minute levels and one with 30 minute levels.

3. Cannonball
A completely unique structure that creates the effect of changing level length midway through the tournament! It starts off with 3-minute levels but then slows down to simulate a 12-minute structure! Entire structure found here.
