PokerRoom and eSport-Poker.com move TeamPlay into the next season. The leagues are now open. Challenge other teams and players for fantastic prizes.
Open Leagues
The open leagues are open to anybody. Every team has chance to qualify for the Play Offs and promotion to the pro leagues. A team needs at least 5 members to qualify within one of the open league events which last 2 weeks each. Finish in the top ten to join the PlayOffs for a chance to move up to the pro leagues.
Open Leagues – eSport-Poker for everybody!
Anyone can take part in our Open Leagues; they're not just open to players from the UK, Spain or Germany. There will be 3 Open Leagues where any team can take part. The leagues go on for 2 weeks with a one-off admin charge of $50 per team. This means that you can play in 1, 2 or all 3 Open Leagues for just $50, and join in at any time. Please be aware, that the whole team has to pay $50. If your team consists of 5 players, that makes it $10 per person, if you have the maximum of 20 players, then everybody only has to pay $2.50.
To take advantage of everything on offer, we would suggest you set up a team with a Team Manager from the UK, Germany or Spain*. If your team is one of the top 10 UK, German or Spanish teams at the end of the open league's you will then join the play-offs for the 3rd Division. This is your chance for promotion and to take one more step on the payout ladder.
If, however, your manager isn't from the UK, Germany or Spain that's not a problem, you can still go forward to the Champions' League play-offs by finishing in the top 10 of any of the open leagues. The top 10 teams of each Open League will also win their very own freeroll with some great cash prizes. See below.
* To progress into the UK, German or Spanish 3rd division play-offs, the manager of your team must be located in one of those countries.
The Pro Leagues or Closed Leagues include a “Who is Who” of the scene. After the 1st season 40 teams moved up to the closed leagues and have taken their share of the huge prize money. Additionally, these teams will fight for the chance to move up to the second eSport-Poker.com League.
Each country's league is divided into separate divisions and you can work your way up through the divisions.
The real money can be made in the Champions’ League. If its bragging rights you are after, this is the place for you.
How To Qualify:
Qualification to the Champion’s League works like any European football leagues’ qualifying structure. Finish at the top of the Pro league and you’re in with a chance. But watch out for the wild cards, these are teams that can be selected from both Open and Pro leagues. So even if you don’t complete the season at the top, you could still qualify for the Champions’ League. The league begins in May 2008.
